Replaced rear brake shoes, Ford e-250 ,8 bolt rear , Brake pedal goes to floor only when running, any ideas?

Already bled master cylinder, rear brake cylinders & abs pump. Emergency brake also goes to floor but holds somewhat. I'm an amateur trying to save a few bucks.

It sounds like the b rakes are out of adjustment on the back because of the emergency brake issue. Adjust the pads until they just touch the drum, then adjust the emergency cable.

Keep bleeding... or replace stuff starting with master cylinder.

There is a vacuum assist on the brakes that only works with the engine running. So it feels like you are getting brake with the motor off, but you really aren't. You are just fighting a spring without the engine's help.

Are you bleeding correctly? Any air in the lines will cause trouble and there are a lot of lines on these 3/4 ton vans. Stay at it. Get a small piece of 1/4 inch hose and attach it to the bleed valve as you bleed each wheel and recover the brake fluid in a bottle. If it is new fluid you can reuse it. If not, at least you wont make a mess of the driveway.

If all you probably did was commerce the pads, then you certainly shouldnt could bleed the brakes, now not till you took the caliper effortless off or you have gotten a leak someplace. everytime you set pads on, think ofyou've have been given to pump the brakes a number of situations to set the pads against the rotors, if not something then, it would desire to be the draw close cylinder by making use of way of-passing.

Still a bad master cylinder. The parking brake is a cable adjustment, or more likely, a new cable is needed. Adjust the shoes first. It's not that hard. You can pose a separate question for that if you need detail instructions. It will probably take a lot of WD40 to get the old cable off. Don't overtighten the cable or your brakes will drag.
