Cheap accomodation in Copenhagen?

I'll be traveling there for a week in a month or so and wonder would a hostel (eg: The Danhostel Copenhagen Downtown) be my best option? thanks :-)

There are 2 Danhostels now in central Copenhagen -- Danhostel City (the ~500 bed high-rise "designer" hostel), and the newer Danhostel Downtown. The latter just opened this season, I believe, and I've read that they've had some customer complaints, i.e. typical opening growing pains. Selecting either one of these would reduce your need for purchasing public transport, as both are well located for exploring inner Copenhagen on foot. Selecting the Danhostel Amager also would not be a bad choice, but you must add a 2 zone transport ticket or clip each time you travel out and back for that one.

I don't know of a better option for 130kr per night for a bed (Danhostel Downtown price).

Even better - try www.couchsurfing.com and stay for free. Only if the hospitality exchange concept appeals to you of course, but I can highly recommend it. Enjoy Copenhagen, it's a great city, especially if you know some locals.

    The Cab Inn very reasonable.

Small no bar or restaurant but clean & not far from the centre.

The beer is that cheap, we generally use a doorway!
