Has John McCain said anything remotely conservative?
I havn't heard of a single thing that John McCain has said that sounds like he is from the republican party. He can't start sound conservative now because if he did he would sound like flip-flopper and he muzzle Sarah Pallen. I know a lot of republicans are going to vote for him but is that because Obama sucks and is a left-over from the radical 60s.

Has McCain said anything remotely comprehensible, much less principled and credible?

He is not a covservative Republican and that is why he won the primaries. Conservatives, in their current form, have been soundly defeated. McCain is smart enough to know that, but the Republican party is still held captive by the minority of conservatives that make a lot of noise. A moderate like the old McCain could win this election, and if the party forces him right they will lose, in my opinion.

McCain has said many things associated with conservatives, they are just thinly veiled in order to gain democratic votes. For example: McCain's tax proposal is to lower taxes on those in the bracket which currently pay 35% in order to "help the middle class". What the McCain campaign neglects to mention is that the only bracket that pays 35% is the highest tax bracket - (not middle class at all).
This is just one example where McCains stance mimicks those of our current president, without appearing so to those who don't bother to research the issues.
The only liberal stance McCain takes that I can think of off the top of my head is the abortion issue.
Regardles of anyones political party, I urge everyone to actually read into the issues and question what both candidates say. You'll never find anyone in politics you completely agree withwhich is why it's best to go with who you disagree with the least. lol
Oh, and please note my sources.

The timbo.. John McCain is no Ted Kennedy on political views. But he is by no means a Ronald Regan conservatively speaking. I myself as a conservative will be holding my nose voting for him. I strongly suspect he brought Pulin on board because he knows that he does not stand strong in the eyes of evangelicals and Ronald Regan republicans like myself.

McCain's campaign freely admits that they're running against the republican party. He knows the repub base will still vote for him, but he needs to distance himself from anything republican or connected to this administration.

It looks to me like the GOP needs tranformation or they will continue losing to people with ZERO experience. John McCain may know what he is talking about. I left the Republican Party 9 years ago in disgust at what they have become.

Actually, McCain hasn't said anything that's really coherent over the past few days.

I hear McCain is out wearing Birkenstocks and hugging trees. He is such a pathetic person.
