Do I owe my neighbor?

I had tree to fall on my property during a storm. After the storm was over, I was cutting up the tree. My neighbor walks over to lend a hand and a tree branch falls onto him and he gets rush to the hospital by ambulance. Now my neighbor wants me to pay for all of his hospital bill and ect. I did not ask the neighbor to come over for help. I just feel that my neighbor was at will. He should have known the risk of injury when he walked over to my house, especially when he pulled the branch on top of himself. By law, do I owe to pay my neighbor's injuries?

Yes. Anyone who is injured on your property, especially at your hand, is your insurance responsibility.

Famous example is if it's winter and someone walks up to your door and slips on some ice. You didn't ask them, but they were on your property with a hazard present.

If the tree fell from his property onto yours, I say let his insurance pay for it.

Otherwise, yes, he was on your property, he was not trespassing and he was injured. Report it to your insurance carrier.

Be neighborly. Your homeowners insurance should pay for his

    bills.

    You have a nice neighbor.

I dont think so at all... I think its weird that your neighbor would ask something like that. He was the one that "offered" (keyword there) to come and help. Yes it was a very nice gesture, however if it was you that went over to help him and it fell on you and you asked him to pay for it, do you think he would? Doubt it!
