    Istanbul'da Sonbahar - Teoman

Edit: We know that Dellarovere, but the question is not "what is your favorite Turkish origin Istanbul song?". That song became a symbol for Istanbul very many years ago. 1930's I suppose. As you very well know, Turks and Greeks were living together for centuries in Anatolia and Istanbul so this kind for transfers is quite normal, don't you think so, dear? :)

Still waiting for 'still got the blues", Mister :)

Well, Cetin that number with Eartha Kitt is very nice indeed. But you should have put the original video at least... :-D

Watch it until the end, the last few seconds are quite funny.

BTW: Eartha Kitt was Catwoman in the 1960s Batman series:

Back to your question: Your song is also my favorite.

The following is of course not a song but I have always liked this interpretation with fabulous Musvik Kenter with that background piano:

Hale, Jale and their 10 friends from Bakırköy ask for this song from Duman. Here're the lyrics:

    "bu şehir rakı ile yaşar

    bu şehir cigarayı çeker

    bu şehir gündüzü yaşar

    bu şehir her geceyi sever

    bu şehir adamı sever

    bu şehir kadını da döver

    bu şehir kanımızı emer

    bu şehir için ölmeğe değer

    istanbul

    elinden öper"

I hope I won't dissapoint anybody, but the song related to the link in youtube you give us, is an old traditional Greek folk song from Smyrna (Ismir) with recently added turkish lirics.

    Originally it says:

"From a foreign and distant land,

there came a young girl 17 years old.

She neither appears at the door, not at the street,

    not even at her window,

so that I can tell her a couple of words of love....."

istanbul benden büyük, onla başa çıkamam,

    küçücük ellerimle seni geri alamam..

istanbul's bigger than me, i can't deal with her,

with those my tiny hands, i can't take you back..

nice song by yalın.. that's my favorite..
