Points are only a method to judge how well you are doing as you move up through the levels

no, basically they are useless, but if u ask a lot of questions, you need to answer questions to make more points to ask those questions. You get ranked into levels for how many points you have. Go to this website:

It's just a fun thing to do. Plus you learn things from other people too. There's no money, trips, etc. involved. Yeah, I wish they were!
