What do Macs offer, that user friendly Linux distributions do not?

Update:

good points, but none of them entice a person like me. i guess it just depends on the user. i really think arguing over which os is better is pointless, as what suits one person may not suit another. I like linux because its free, almost completely customizable, versatile, and it allows me to learn something i had little or no knowledge of before. however someone may like mac because of the reasons you listed. or people like windows for other reasons such as gaming, and the amount of applications created for it etc.

    1) Macs give consumers a chance to pay more for the same hardware because Steve Jobs says it is better

2)Because Apple has a nice gray icon on their machine that looks like a bitten Apple

3)An Apple a day keeps the doctor away?! (Sorry out of point here)

4)Because people like to pay more for branded stuff like nike sports shoes, Gucci handbags etc

5)Because people are stupid Macs offer a chance to prove it by making them pay for it

    1) Technical support at the apple store. You don't have to do anything the "geniuses" will do it for you.

    2) Macs work out of the box while in most Linux distribution you must install codecs and stuff..

    3) The software is made specifically for the hardware (and by the same company) its running on. Apple makes the drivers. That is a big advantage because some vendors like ATI half- a ss their Linux drivers.

    4) Other than that...pride - a huge ego...

2 closest to the domicile windows look and experience. you probably did say person pleasant. sales area will boot as a LiveCD so that you'll be able to examine them out earlier finding out to position in them to the hardcontinual. i could in my view advise twin boot so that you're able to have both domicile windows and Linux and choose which one you opt to run. Kubuntu and PClinuxOS 2009-a million KDE version. there are quite some Open source distributions to pick on from.

    More expensive hardware!

One study found that the average PC was 1/2 the cost of Mac.

But you gotta admit, you do get that kool apple logo!
