That's a very good idea. If you are interested in attending a school in Japan I'd recommend International Christian University. I was planning to go there this school year but my parents were just sooo freaked out by the idea of me being so far from home. Anyways, it's a really good school that will allow you to take classes in English while you are completing the intensive Japanese learning program. Once you are fluent in Japanese you will be allowed to take your classes in both Japanese and English. Check it out!

I have been living in Japan for over 12 years. If you come to Japan without knowing any Japanese you will not make any real progress. Everyone learns English in junior and senior high school in Japan. You will be speaking English to everyone most of the time. Also, living in Japan is not cheap.
You need to focus on what you really want to do with your life. Do you want to be a doctor? What do you want to do with your languages?
If you do come to Japan, it's in your own best interest to have a good understanding of Japanese before you arrive. Then you will make REAL progress in the Japanese language.

Planning to study in foreign countries is not a deplorable idea, but one needs to keep in mind a number of things. First of all, learn a good deal about life in Japan...net is a good way for that. You need to know not only about civilisiation details but also a fair amount of knowledge regarding behaviourial patterns of people there. Before exploring the good institutes, you must decide your field of further studies. I think traditional fields in a foreign land are not attractive options when other ones like tourism are available wher your language skills may also help you. But first of all, concentrate on your high school grades first as only they will help you gain an entry on student visa in Japan. All the best
