which side is which on a two sided DVD?
on one side there is the directors cut......on the other it is the theatrical version. (because it does not say when I put the DVD in) , How do I tell by reading the fine print on the inner rim, which side is which?

The ones that i used has some small writing on the inner rim. So that when the disk is in the DVD drive the words on the top tell you what is on the bottom. Hope that helps if not put a sharpie dot on the plastic circle in the middle to tell the difference.

It means that you have the double amount of digital space, whatever is burnt on either side. Some films are very long, perhaps up to three hours or more and will not fit into one side only. Therefore the excess digital requirement will be burnt onto side "B" together with any other information about the actors, filming etc. Digital is pixels and bytes and films have many images per second to create movement, colour and sound adds to the required digital space as does wide screen imaging, Dolby and all other special effects also add more to the digital requirements, and that is about all there is to burning two sides, plus a two sided DVD is more expensive. PS. Thanks, Executioner Bolan, for your fair play, cheers - Iain

The laser reading mechanism on your DVD player is almost always on the bottom, with the laser shooting upward, so whichever side of the disc you put face down, that's the side that will be read.
