How do I turn off popup windows from www.antispyware-review.biz?

I am getting frequent blue and grey pop-up wanings with "Windows Security Alert". A trojan or other virus will be named, followed by a question "Do you want to block this software from sending data over the internet?"

The only button available is one for "Enable Protection" and, if I click this, I am taken to the webpage for antispyware-review.

My Firewall and AVG are all working fine, regardless of these messages.

What can I do?

Download, update and scan your computer with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, delete what ever they find, run SmitfraudFix if this fails to completely remove the infection, all the software below is completely free and safe to use.

If your infection is proving very hard to remove download then update Avast and run a boot-scan (click schedule boot-scan and restart your PC).

    Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

    SmitfraudFix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.exe

    Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Once you have removed the infection download Avast and Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop the virus returning. (links on my profile)

AVG, nor other AV programs will NOT remove this as it is a malicious codec. The following free programs have high success rates in removing this parasite and have done so successfully in hundreds of removals:

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/...

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

    SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:

    http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware-Free-Edit...

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring:

    http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer_new....

Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.

    SmitFraud Removal:

Firstly, download the removal tool from here:

    http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php

Then follow the instructions on the page

ONLY IF the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode - tap F8 during boot before Windows splash screen and select Safe Mode.

After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.

You need to remove all viruses or spyware! Know how to get to the "run" box? Type msconfig in the box and left click OK! After a few seconds a window will come up. Go to the "startup" tab" and you will see all of the programs that are loaded at startup. If you know which one is this program is, then you can uncheck it! Just hit "apply", "ok" and "restart now". When your computer restarts this should no longer be running. You may be able to uninstall it from control panel if you want too! Viruses may also be spyware. They can get and give your personal information to someone else, like your name, password(s), home address, socail security number and credit card number(s)!

Antivirus 2009 (or 2008, or Antivirus XP2009 or other names - there are many clones of this rogue software) is a piece of malware that infects your computer and constantly pops up notices that you have an infection and you have to buy or update Antivirus 2009. This is a scam to trick you into paying $30 for some useless software. The malware installed when you downloaded something from the web, sometimes masquerading as a video codec or other useful software. It is persistent, and infects a number of Windows files.
