It is a testing time for NRL. Save Cameron Smith or save the game. Storms supportors know it yet they try to give all kinds of sh*t excuses. It is a joke for the Storm CEO to come out and try to interpret the tackle and the rules surrounding it. Why would people continue to refer to the tackle on the neck as an accident when Cameron Smith knows where the neck is and knew he attacked it at least for 5 seconds..only to release it when Sam Thaiday few backwards. Smith knows he is guilty as hell. I am not a Broncos supporter but I feel that nobody should be above the law/rule.

Well seeing though he was incorrectly cited he should get off and if he doesn't it will prove how bad the NRL's system is.
For the record I am NOT a Storm fan, I am an ARL Referee.
With the Key Indicators we were given at the start of this year, the tackle by Cameron is NOT a grapple tackle or a dangerous tackle.
It is classed as a careless high tackle because the POC (point of contact) is off the shoulder into the neck.
A grapple tackle is when the 2nd POC is around the neck.
I think that the NRL should scrap wrestling coaches completely.
This evens out the playing field so to speak and hopefully this wrestling crap is out of our beloved game.

How possible is it??? Anyone that tells me 'the bigger the name player generally does less time', I will shoot them and don't hardly have any morals!!....But it's true!! Just ask Uncle "Rupie" Murdoch, or his son Lachie, and they'll both tell u the answer to that one!! Rugby League's been such a big disgrace since News Ltd's taken over it as of 1998!! It's bloody well damn known it's Super League, as it's been that way in England(not the UK), since 1995! If anyone doesn't know that the Broncos and the Storm aren't owned by News Ltd, they need their bloody heads fixed!! It's not the people's game anymore, but corporatised!! That's why I don't hardly follow the game anymore. I used to like Mr. Cameron Smith, but not any more. I went for them in the GF last yr against Manly, as I used to 'dislike' Manly (and still do, for sentimental reasons). As Manly will win and play in the GF against the Storm [the Warriors have a better chance of upsetting Manly, than the Sharks doing the Storm -- even if Smith get off(but shouldn't!)], I hope that Manly does end up beating the Storm (and take out the GF for 'Beaver'[what a Champ the bloke is! ;-)]), of what these 'Grapplers' & 'Chicken-Winged P(_)SSIES' did to the Broncos! Even Bellamy doesn't have a bad-bone in his body, but the Storm's management keeps allowing it. Or is that News Ltd's NRL's promo exec's allowing it?? It's your call, folks!! The guy deserves 4 weeks, or 5!!

Hey all you guys out there saying that Smith doesn't go so hard on his fellow queenslander's, what a joke the reason it is such a big story is because if he didn't have the carry points he would of just missed this weekend but that tackle back in round one was on brent tait a fellow maroon that wears a bloody neck brace! You think that smith would find another way to slow the ball on tait instead trying to twist his neck, i bet if wasn't Smith Tait would of fired up. But Tait knows better and isn't coached week in week out to wrestle as hard, Because like all footy Legends will say that you recieve more momentum giving out big hits, only gotta look at ruben Wiki charge last friday night now thats how you use your aggresion not twisting arms and necks!

What sort of example does this Cameron Smith set for the young kids watching & playing football. He should get the 2 weeks ban and the Storm players are just a bunch of thugs and to many commentators on TV are telling us their such heroes

I play rugby and I can tell you right now, If I've got someone around the head or neck, I KNOW IT! More to the point, if someones got me around the head or neck, I REALLY KNOW IT (kinda hurts and very scary). We had player with a forced retirement this year because some thug from the opposite team decided to twist his head off.
The game is tough enough, if people truly want to see this sort of thing, they should go to the wrestling.
STORM supporters should stop pretending the sun shines out of Cameron Smiths a**e and accept that he, at times, plays outside the rules, the penalty in this case is suspension...so be it.

Storm get tackled around the neck and head every week. Take your blinkers off and you will see that we cop alot but we never ever get penalties for it. Last season when we played the broncos,3 broncos players were penalised for grapple tackles on Storm players.None from Storm. The league have said that ALL teams do it NOT just Storm. I hope Cameron gets off, Since when has thaiday been an angel on the park????

Following all the complaining and tackles highlighted from Wariors game previous week it was always going to be that Storm players under close scrutiny. TThat's the risk he took, plenty of criticism over several seasons so it was always going to catch up with someone sooner or later. Fact that it is big end of season game shouldn't matter.
Do the crime - do the time I say.

How can you grab someones head with both hands (one under the chin) and use their head to takle them and claim there was no intent? If the Storm players are as briliant as all the Channel 9 commentators constantly remind us of, WHY CANT THEY WIN WITHOUT PLAYING SO DIRTY?
Cameron Smith should be given 2 weeks without blinking and then another 8 for being suck a wanker about it...

Have anyone played rugby league ever? Do I think Cameron did it on purpose or as part of the physics principles of force and speed? I think the tackle was deemed as "dangerous" but it was an unfortunate situation. Watch it again and (most importantly) forget for a minute that you are someone else's supporter.
