Do you think Biden is doing this on purpose?
Joe Biden said today in an interview
"in 1929 when the stock market crashed President Roosevelt went on television and showed leadership, that's what we need now"
Surely he isn't this stupid? Do you think he makes these gaffes on purpose? Is this the Obama campaign setting up bringing Hillary on the ticket? Surely it has to be, a U.S. senator couldn't be this dumb

He just made a mistake. I feel it was shown in the movie theatres when they used to show news clips. My parents talked about seeing it too, but they didn't say on TV. :-)
Two days ago he came out saying that the ad the dems had done on McCain was in bad taste and just "terrible." I read today that after he saw it, he said it wasn't so bad after all since the reps have said some mean stuff too. He could have waited to speak out until he HAD seen the ad. That's not Biden. He jumps in with both feet in his mouth. I like the man, but he does have problems when he speaks!

Did Biden study enough history to find out what happened over the next 11 years after Roosevelt made that speech? We had a depression.
Does Biden know there were no televisions in 1929? Radios yes, TVs no.
This guy is going to be a heart beat from the presidency? What a scary thought.

Ever the more disappointing that Katie Couric didn't call him on it. Well, what is one to expect from the network news these days ...
(IMO I think Joe was just tired ... Democrat campaign managers have a terrible tendency to over-push the candidates ... just look at what happened to poor Mike Dukakis in 88)
