Whats the point in living?
I'm not depressed. Not suicidal either. I just don't see any point in getting up in the morning. After I finish all my schooling I get to work more. Earn a living. Get old and be forgotten in some retirement home.
Maybe I am a little depressed.
Whats your reason for living?

It's better than the alternative. Right now my reason for living is to help other people, meet all the friends I've met online or at least chat with them every day, someday see my grandkids that haven't been born yet. You have to make plans, like every year think of something you want to accomplish. I have only had 3 vacations in the last 30 years so I'm looking forward to traveling too.

You get out of life what you put into it, like most other things. You teach your children and your grandchildren little things along the way to help them lead a happy life. You have your own legacy to leave, for example if you are an artist you leave your paintings for people to remember you. If you are a writer, you leave your words.
Also if you think about, is life really ending when we die? Although technically we weren't dead, I am going to use that word. If we were "dead" before we were born, and we are dead after we die, is life really just a continuum of our spirits, souls, or what have you? This may not be the only universe and there is so much unknown out there. Ok, so I have been lucky to get even 6 hours of sleep in these past few weeks with school, but it will be worth my time in the end.
In the meanwhile, try to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Edit: Naman, my dad is atheist and I am agnostic. But I think I gave a pretty clear explanation as to why my life is worth living thank you very much. Yeah Jessica, he is THAT ignorant.

The alternative is irrevocable - suicide is final where choosing to live, even for a few more seconds, is not. Entropy is a one way street. If you're asking an abstract philosophical question that's my best answer. If you're asking a personal one, why should you live, my answer is go risk your life. When you are in the position where you genuinely think you might die you realize how much you want to live, how strong is not only the instinct but the desire for life. It doesn't take a very serious risk to give you a look at this feeling. This question phrased differently was described by Albert Camus as the only important philosophical question: 'why should I not commit suicide?'

I have the same problem sometimes. I see people with their iphones and designer jeans and I think to myself, Why the hell are they spending money on crap that means nothing? But i do it too. I see people running around to catch an appointment or screaming about a parking space, and I roll my eyes. But I do it too. What is the point to it all? Why do we work all our lives for things, when we all die the same? I don't know. Nobody does. No matter what any religious, political,or any sort of group says they don't know either. I think if we did know we'd be even more crazy than we are now. So enjoy your life. Try to let the little annoying things go,and do things that make you happy. It might sound cliche, but what else can we do?

Everybody has it`s very own point, its reasons and battles. You have to find yours. At some age in our lives it seems we don`t have it, then suddenly we have like thousands reasons to get up every morning thanks for that new day and go for it!. My reason is being a mom of two, being a wife and daughter and sister, and some other things that I love...Sometimes a prayer helps you to see your reasons, I`m so sure you have it but you just don`t see it..

I don't know my reason - I believe that we don't find that out until afterwords. I am convinced that it is to affect others in some way. Is my purpose to raise my son to do something important? Is it to lend a hand to someone in need through my charity work? Is it to affect someones life through my business?
I don't know. But I know that there IS a reason and that is why I need to live the best life I can and treat others well and encourage them whenever possible.
Who knows, maybe my reason was to tell you this. :)

My reason for living is to give someone else a reason to get out of bed in the morning. If one of my friends wakes up, and the only reason they get out of bed is because they want to have a nice lunch with me, then I've served my purpose. Wow...that sounded very hallmark-ish.

find a point, its called making goals. you can either make goals for the long term or live on a day to day happiness. Some find point in life in Religion, which is why it ultimately claims to make them happy. Some people find a point in life by making money, they live and die by it, and die happy. Baically whatever makes you happy and lets you enjoy life. It could even be a person that makes you wanna saty alive, you know just for them. Find one.

The "Meaning of Life" question is going to get you some diverse answers. For me, the reason we exist, from a biological and sociological point is to perpetuate our species for the better. For me, that means I want to have kids, raise'em good, so that they can raise good kids and so on and so forth and hopefully, percentage wise, we'll have fewer jerks in society.
For others, it means achieving things to help mankind or performing a role in society for the betterment of society.
For others, it means expressing yourself so society can see different perspectives and learn from it.
Life is only meaningless if you make it that way.
