apb to dave in the local league. take your head out of the sand and apply common sense to your thinking mate, look at the footage and think what was he trying to do? if he was charged with a grapple or careless high tackle makes no diference, he deserved to sit out.

    Mate, you are far off.

As a person who sits on a judiciary in a local league, I can say with confidence Cameron was cited under the incorrect charge.

His tackle isn't a grapple, it is actually a careless high tackle, so he should have got off.

You mob are as bad as the media. In fact that is where you probably got the information and opinions from.

Why don't you get reliable information, like from a referee, like myself.

Or you can continue to be a stupid bunch of people and listen to incorrect facts.

If the media didn't say anything Cameron would not have been cited.

Now the media have said something, you all come out, like the stupid group you are and cry blue murder.

Before you play the blame game, sit back and look at your own team, they grapple and don't say they don't because I have seen every team in the NRL, Toyota Cup and the NSW cup do it.

The grapple and wrestling will kill rugby league, but it isn't the acts that will, it will be the groups of stupid people like you who don't know the difference between a grapple and a high tackle and unfortunately it looks like you have influenced the judicary as well.

I thought he was lucky to get two weeks. Four to six would have been more appropriate and because he was charged with misconduct, the judiciary did not have to follow the points rule. A decent suspension would stop the grapple tackles/wrestling immediately. The one thing that I do commiserate with Smith on is that this whole thing should have been dealt with years ago. Back in the 80's Parramatta had a move called the flying wedge. This was outlawed immediately because of potential injury. Why couldn't the NRL show the same intestinal fortitude that the ARL showed nearly thirty years before.

In my opinion he should have got nothing..!! or at least had his apeal upheld and suspension reduced to 1 week, The NRL has given itself no credability here at all, if they want to make an example, or stamp out a specific part of the game, then they need to consistantly penalise the act week in week out during the REGULAR season, not 2 weeks before a GF, its the same 1 or 2 weeks before every Kiwis/Kangaroos game, without fail, you can guarantee a big name Kiwi will be suspended for 1 or 2 weeks for something that goes unpenalised every other week, ruling him out of the game.

There's nothing i'd like to see more than the Storm get beat, but I would have prefered they got beat with a full strength team. the NRL judicary is a joke..!! its baised and prejudiced..!! and each case is tailor made to suit.

God forbid they don't have a Sydney club in the Gf..!!

and you can bet the Warriors fate has already been decided..!!

I hate Melbourne Storm...but, I think 2 weeks is fair. He is going to miss possibly the most 2 important games of Storm's season.

Suspending Cam Smith will no doubt get those whiny bitches down south crying how unfair it is. But this decision clearly sends a message to them to clean up their act.

It's about time the NRL judiciary took a stand against these kinds of dirty and dangerous tactics.

The storm boys seam to right. Cameron smith is unfairly Targeted because some ***** said that he got a sore neck after playing them, well Boo hoo.

Maybe the Sam thiaday should stop diving

He's very lucky to have got the 2 weeks and not more. I think the Judiciary knew they would have had to charge him, because if he were let off, I couldn't imagine the uproar. Let's hope the NRL gets their s**t together now and make a stand on the so-called Grapple tackle. Being consistent is their problem.

I guess it is worth about 4 weeks thinking of the magnitude of the games he is going to miss. I agree though, they need to get serious about this sort of rubbish, it was a shocking tackle.

  • This is a great precedent and hopefully eradicates this crap from the game. No player deserves to miss a GF but no players deserves to end up in a wheelchair either.

yeh something serious needs to be done to get that crap out of the game.

their will be a bit of awkwardness with cam smith and ricky stuart in the australian team because ricky was saying he should be charged for sure
