i looked yesterday and it said that one of the breaks i surf was 5 ft---in actuality it was only knee (maybe) waist high.....it must be computer model driven???

Computer aided models are only as good as the programmer and their data sources. Take WetSand for instance. Their model will routinely forecast for swell to be coming into Virginia Beach at some random height and angles like 270 degrees. Look at a map, this would mean that we would be getting swell from inland. This tells me that their model is driven strictly by meteorological data and not shore contours and ocean bathymetry. Magic Seaweed may be the same way.

it ok at best. you have to check the swell hieght with the swell period. the longer the period the bigger the swell. if just go by how many stars are up then its ok. just dont pay real close attention to the hieght. if there are 4 stars on your spot then its defenantly worth a peek. yea and dont forget to check the date hahahahaha
