Time sensitive: Recommend me a good JRT Rescue in the Voorhees, NJ area?

I have a co-worker who has a JRT she needs to re-home in a hurry - Her husband has had a stroke, and is deathly ill; she has no time to care for her husband AND the dog at the same time, and she wants to do the right thing by the dog if she can. Whatever happens to the dog, it's going to happen in the next couple days - She's overwhelmed, and her husband is teetering on the edge.

This is a brown-n-white Jack Russell Terrier, named Dominic. Reportedly he's purebred, but is too large for showing, so is neutered. For that same reason, he's got no papers, and *could* be, I suppose, a JRT/X. The dog is smart, active, and social. He's known to be good with cats and small children, and is OK with other dogs, though he tends to be a bit dominant.

When he's kept active, he's well-behaved and very playful. Recently, however, he's been getting short shrift, and has become destructive in his boredom.

So, does anyone on Y!A know the whereabouts of a good JRT rescue in the Voorhees, NJ, area? I will be pursuing other avenues, like my own contacts, and searching the web and the phone book, but every bit of help I could get is appreciated - These folks need a break, and Dominic needs a good home.

Thanks!

Update:

Russell Rescue dot com - E-mails are already on their way; thank you!

Also, very good point about contacting the breeder.

Thanks folks, keep it up - If anyone has any other good ideas, I'm all ears!

in view which you have a manner, or a recent with canine, i could probable look into securing a grant to open up an ASPCA shelter on your section, in view which you say there's no longer one. The pound looks like the morgue, or loss of life row. one element you comprehend for useful, the canine replaced into in no huge hurry to come again from the place she got here from, and besides she is loopy approximately you. you comprehend, basically perhaps this may well be your calling, and you have been doing some thing else. it is not continuously approximately adventure, additionally, that's approximately love of what you're doing, alongside with the keenness you do it with. all people who gets fed and taken care of precise, will leap too, and be grateful for it. you're able to do it you have organic ability to groom the canine, you in basic terms could desire to have self belief you're able to do it, the grooming. save up the best artwork. ba_wa_jo
