Should Sarah Palin have declined the VP offer?

I'm sure that even many McCain supporters would be willing to admit that there were/are many more qualified Republican candidates (men and women) than Gov. Palin. Could she not have graciously said, "Thank you. I'm honored to be asked. But I don't think I'm prepared for this responsibility at this time"? Or is she putting personal ambition ahead of the welfare of our nation?

(NOTE - This is not a comparison between her resume and Sen. Obama's. There's been plenty written about that elsewhere).

Looking forward to the responses/discussion!

No, I really like the fact that she is an outsider who has taken on the corruption of both parties and lived to tell about it. I like the fact that she doesn't want status quo. I like the fact that she is willing to stand up for what is right, because it is right!

I really like Sarah Palin and am thrilled that he chose her. Palin 2012!

Yes.. There are many who could be considered more qualified in some peoples eyes. But not a one of them would not be a Washington insider. Maybe we need a fresh face with a fresh perspective. I personally like Palin because she doesn't talk like a big wheel. I believe she can relate to the average joe. And I believe she will carry and that into her decision making process and quite frankly that is reassuring to me. God in the bible says he will use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the weak things to confound that which is mighty.. Palin sure meets that description..

John McCain did not %. Palin - she replaced into chosen by technique of huge Oil. McCain hardly knew who she replaced into - and there all of unexpected she's the vice president candidate???? And the lads at huge Oil are not extremely wise - they did not seem into her previous. they in basic terms recognize that the yankee each and all people is stupid and could vote for trash like Palin devoid of asking too many questions. huge Oil needs a stupid individual who's particularly manipulated - like Li'l Bush. Palin is suitable in this position - she's stupid, she's paranoid and she is a religious nutball. And McCain shouldn't make it a three hundred and sixty 5 days as president - and we will be stuck with Bimbo Palin!!! OR paintings like Hell for Obama!

Even though I think she's a horrible selection, I can't blame her for accepting. All politicians have an element of egotism. How do you decline such a position?

However, I do fault McCain for picking her!!!!!!

Yes. If she cared more about the USA than personal ambition she would have done just that.
