You should definitely do it in person. It will show that you have confidence and guys totally dig that in a girl! And since you are inviting a group of his friends, it won't seem like there is so much pressure. Just be casual and flirty about it, without trying to hard of course! Good luck and have fun!

You need to ask in person because you never know what the other persons intentions are or what you are up for .A facial expression can say a lot rather than talking on the phone..

Of course, but all go together in a group (like your group of friends who are going bowling with you) and ask the group of guys you wont to go. Just say, 'Hey, we're going bowling blah blah blah night at blah:00, you guys want to come?' You have much more of a chance of them saying no. And also its sorta akward texting them or calling them to ask because then when you see them its like, o ya you called me and they might ignore you if they say yes and have more of a chance to say no. And if they say they are busy (like for real busy, not just saying tha for an excuse to not go) say, 'Oh, darn. We should do it another night then' and see what they say.
