Joe Torre; a two part question?

You think the man that was so instrumental in bringing 4 World Championships to the Bronx can't help but be laughing deep down inside at Hank "I'm a crybaby" Steinbrenner and the Yankees top brass? Do the Dodgers have a good shot at getting to the World Series? Anything can happen once you get in the playoffs!

Update:

zenmeist.... Joe Giradi was NL manager of the year when he managed the Marlins.

Good question sir. Joe Torre is a class act and always conducts himself with dignity and class. Yes after winning all of those championships under Torre, they got impatient and greedy which is normal for Steinbrenner of course. Maybe deep inside Joe is maybe laughing just a little bit. As far as the Dodgers making the World Series, I wouldn't pick them but they do have a legitimate shot and certainly in baseball, stranger things have happened as you well know, It would be kind of I showed you if they did and Yankee fans would be shaking their heads thinking George, how could you let him just leave as many probably already do.

Joe Torre definitely has to be laughing at Hank Steinbrenner. I'm sure that he feels sorry for the players that he managed; they weren't the reason that he left. But deep down I think he is enjoying the fact that he will be there in October and the Yanks won't. As for the Dodgers, I know anything can happen in the playoffs, but I really don't think they will make it out of round 1.

I think Joe Torre is laughing deep down inside. The Yankees were stupid to threaten him, if they could not win. Then they go to resigned him. What did they expect. I also think the Dodgers will make it too the Second round and loose. There are just to Meany good teams in front of them.

It's not his style to laugh, he was fired by the Mets 27 years ago, and still speaks very highly of the Mets' organization. In fact, he was offered the Sportschannel job before he took the Yankees managerial position.
