Would using a fake i.d. in a foreign country like the Netherlands work well and get you in most places?

It couldn't really be traced could it? And if they card you, they couldn't really tell a fake from a real...right?

You would think not....but (yes of course there is a but) - you have to remember that places like Amsterdam get tens of thousands of tourists from all over every year.As a result places that would need ID - bars, coffeeshops, casino's etc know which ID to expect from bigger countries such as the US, UK etc and that officially ID only comes in the form of a passport, driving licence etc.

Therefore if you have a good forgery of a passport or driving licence, then I guess you won't have problems. However if it is any old card showing a birth-date, they may well not accept it.

Did you know that in the Netherlands you must (by law) carry an offical form of ID at all times with you and have to produce it if the police ask for it.

Therefore places which are age-sensitive and care about their licence may well ask for this official form of ID

.....so I guess the answer is depending on what ID you are talking about, and what you are planning to use it for.

Most European countries the drinking age is way lower. 18 is considered high at alot of places. Some are 16 and even 15. If you aren't even 15 or 16, you really shouldn't be using a fake ID cause trying to pull that much of a age difference claim isn't going to work, you're going to get caught, fast. But I doubt they care, they see an American ID and think, cool a tourist to make money off of.

Are you younger than 18? Because if you are, you couldn't even fly overseas without parental consent, nor find accommodation by your self. If you are 18, most countries in Europe are legal to drink and go clubbing.
