How to get really cheer jumps?? (stretches and ab/leg work)?
I am a freshman cheerleader and i want to make varsity next year. I am really good at cheering, dancing, stuntinng, and i am really flexible. But my jumps are really low and i think it is my lack of abs and/or leg muscles. I need some good stretches, and some really effective excersizes to strengthen my abs and legs. Something i can do every night to help. I want really high jumps please help!!!!

Can you use the weight room at your school?Get a friend to spot you,use your weight as a starting point, now add small amounts of weight to your weight.Do squats to strengthen thighs( I don't know what your weight room has for equipment/machines),you want to strengthen your calf muscles;back and front. For extra calf work, run up the stairs, skip one step every other step, stay on the balls of your feet(area just before toes) wen running up stairs.Increase weight with ankle weights,a backpack with heavy books will help.Get some dumbbells(don't mean a couple boys) and a jogging trampoline, jump on trampoline with dumbbells, one in each hand, while jumping, pull your legs up to your chest, which will develop your abs,and should increase jumping height when standing still.
