What division to enter for my first BJJ tourny?
Ive been doing Judo for about 1 year now as well as experience in folk style wrestling and sub grappling. Should I enter the BJJ Blue or White belt division?

White belt, Judo black belts enter as Blue.

well you should enter as a white belt since your experience is elsewhere even though you probably know as much as a blue belt, however, since you know sub grappling and judo, try testing yourself...why go up against a bunch of rookies you know you'll probably beat...if you really want to better your skills, you'll enter with the blue belts since they'll put up a better match. the white belt division probably won't let you use kneebars or heelhooks so go for the real test...good luck, man! flying armbar!

I would go for the white belt division if you've only got 6 months of submission wrestling. there are no heel hooks allowed in any divsions. kneebars are only allowed in brown and black belt divsions. The only difference between white and blue belt is you can do wrist locks at blue belt but not at white. good luck and you can't go wrong either way but white belt seems the best fit for your first tournament. then if it seems too easy enter blue next time.
