Who will pay for my boss' tax increase under Obama?

Haha, I read a quote from Harper's index in one of the answers. Raised only 5%, so that's not bad right? Wait, the current tax rate is 35% for the "rich" and, what, about 9% for the middle class? So only increased to 40%... Here's the message I see. "The harder you work, the more we'll take." You tell me people... how would you like if your paycheck was HALF of what you earned? So is the goal of America to work hard, get better, but not too good! We'll punish you then! His taxes would be returning to the level that they were just a few years ago before the Bush tax cuts. Now since your boss has been getting an extra $200,000 dollars per year for the past few years, I'm curious how much of that money has actually trickled down into the pockets of employees.

Obama's plan is to give 90 percent of the US population more money...

this happens to be the poorer 90 percent... and what do poor people do with money... spend it...

and... odds are... you work for a company that supplies something that poor people buy stuff from... or you work for a company that provides a service for companies that poor people buy stuff from...

so... theoretically... sales should go up... which should give your boss a big bonus, which if he's making enough to pay 200,000 in taxes... it will be a six figure bonus... which he's coming out way ahead on that deal...

and you're coming out ahead, as you mention... odds are...

if you're selling Ferraris or Yachts... you may be in trouble...

I own 6 successful convenience stores. If Obama's tax raise is for real for me (he may not actually do it) I will have to lay off three part time employees to keep my income stable. I like giving people jobs, and that is not so bad.

Your boss will have to find a way to make up the money, otherwise his smart employees will go get better jobs.
