Looking back at the 2005 draft, Miami made the smart move?

Out of those 3 highly ranked running backs, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, and Cedric Benson, Miami was the only one to end up with a franchise running back. Now granted Brown has been hurt a little bit, but when he's on the field, he's one of the best in the game.

Cedric Benson is a certified bust, and does anyone know if Cadillac Williams is even healthy?

Cadillac Williams is listed as being on Tampa Bay's roster, but he's out. Hasn't been on the field this season.

I would agree that Ronnie Brown is a huge success in the NFL. Last Sunday's performance only emphasizes this.

I agree with you. Cedric Benson, well we all know about that. Cadillac is not healthy and never will be again. Brown wins the best of the 2005 draft by default, but also because he produced the best out of all them, when they all were healthy or not intoxicated (cough Benson cough). Seems like when 2 backs come out of the same school, it is the one who was not as heralded, that ends up being more productive. I.E. McFadden and Jones this season.....Although it is really early.

Cadillac isn't quite healthy yet, he has a few more weeks to go.

He had a great rookie season, but even before his injury last year, he was in the sophmore slump, unlike Brown. Brown has been a lot more consistent, even with Miami constantly bringing in the dopeman, Ricky Williams. Man, poor Brown can't get away from guys named Williams.

I'd say that right now it's looking like Miami made the right call in the RB department that year.

Can't argue with you at all. I'm a Bear fan and Cedric Benson was indeed a total bust. I can't believe the Bears didn't know he was a head case before they drafted him. That was a poor job by their scouting department. Somebody should be fired for that. I'm serious, somebody should be fired for drafting that piece of garbage. Now, ask me how I really feel!

Don't know so much if it was the smart move or did they just get lucky. I think Brown was drafted before the other two anyway, so you would like to think he was the better RB. Caddy was supposed to be good and Benson had issues before the draft. Just goes to show you what happens when you draft for need instead of talent.
