Why was Obama so weak in this debate?
He attacked a little bit in the debate, but not nearly as much as he should have. You could tell when he really got to McCain cause McCain got uber defensive. If Obama wants a chance at winning, he needs to thrash at him. Show people he's out of touch and is just full of lies and empty promises.

I think McCain kept his cool really well, but it just seemed as though Obama didn't have complete answers to the questions. In my opinion it could have gone either way, but McCain did win this debate. Obama did not capitalize on the strengths of his domestic policy and McCain did an excellent job of exploiting his weakness in foreign policy. I don't know how much this debate will impact the polls, though, so we'll see.

Obama won this, he was speaking the truth.
McCain said he loved the veterans, I doubt that, that is why he voted against the veterans many times on funding issues. That is why we pick Obama to lead our committee and not him.
McCain kept saying lies, and Obama challenged and said that's a LIE and McCain would then ignore it. He was scared, didn't know what to say half the time, couldnt look Obama in the eye and kept shaking throughout the debate. I do not know if that shaking was from old age or actually being shook, but seems he wet his pants.

I thought Obama held his own fine. I was watching the CNN feed where they constantly track Dems, Rebubs and Indies as the debate goes along. For the most part the Indies tracked along with Obama, although somewhat with McCain as well.

McCain came off as an angry old man.
Obama was successful at pulling the right buttons to show the world how McCain's temperament could be a danger for our country if he's in command.

I agree, Obama missed a lot of opportunities. On the other hand, McCain didn't look presidential at all with his ad hominem attacks ("he's naive," "he's uninformed," "he doesn't understand stratagy vs tactics"). I can't see how either candidate will have swayed the independent vote tonight.
