would you date someone 8 and a half years older than you?
I'm 21 and I just started dating a 29 year old. The age gap is about 8 and a half years (he'll be 30 in november, I'm not 22 til next may). Someone I know was making fun of it...saying he was old. I don't really care what they think, but I just wondered how many people would date someone that much older?

lol 28 is old??? Who said that? Some kids?
I was 20 and my partner was 28 when we started dating - and we're still together 5yrs on, and getting married in August next year :-)
Age is just a number, and as long as he treats you well, you share the same interests and get along, nothing else matters. So don't listen to what everyone says. My partner has taught me so many things because he has more experience in life and I know I can always depend on him - no matter what.
The only problem you may find is if you're a party girl and love going out a lot, he might not be so prepared to keep up with you!
Good luck with your relationship chick :-) xx

I'm 22 and last year I dated a 31 year old. It didn't work out but that was because HE was too immature! Age isn't an important thing in my opinion. Don't worry about what other people say either.

Age has nothing to do with it if you love someone. There was a 17 year age gap between my Mum and Dad and they were very much in love till my Dad died. There really is no right or wrong age, just what feels right for you.

i think once you're older it seems right to be going out with people quite a lot older than you. for example, it would be wrong for a 15 year old to date a 23 year old. you find a lot of married couples out there that have a really big age gap. if you think it's worth it, go for it.

No thats completely fine. The gap is not so big. I know plenty of people where the gap is over 10 years. Its nothing to worry about. if you like him. The gap is no big deal as long as your comfortable with it. I would tell youfriends to leave you alone they should not be saying that its your choice and a perfectly fine one.

Personally, I wouldn't. But that doesn't mean I think it's wrong. My aunt is 5 years apart from her husband. Add 3 and a half and you got 8 and a half. What's 3 years next to 5 anyway?
Keep doing your thing and don't worry about it.

I would not but I'm old to start off with.
Age has nothing to do with anything in a relationship, and date who YOU want and not what other people think.
