A 1TB Hard Drive means it is a 1 Terabyte hard drive. It is the amount of storage/space available on your hard drive for your files.

Storage for hard drives is measured usually in Gigabytes (GB). It is only recently that technology has allowed for a Terabyte (TB) amount of storage.

To give you a rough idea of how much storage space that is, use the link provided for Western Digital hard drives and take a look at the section "WHAT IT HOLDS".

For more information on hard drives in general, check out the link for PC World. This link provides lots of information that lets you know everything you need to know about hard drives and storage spaces.

Below is a conversion chart for computer bytes:

    1000 KB = 1 MB

    1000 MB = 1 GB

    1000 GB = 1 TB

KB: Kilobyte (you may also see kilobyte as just k)

    MB: Megabyte

    GB: Gigabyte

    TB: Terabyte

This article is about the unit of information. For the fictional species, see Terabyte (insect). A terabyte is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information. The prefix tera means 1012(12 is a superior) in the International System of Units (SI), and therefore 1 terabyte is 1000000000000bytes, or 1 trillion (short scale) bytes, or 1000 gigabytes. The unit symbol for the terabyte is TB or Tbyte. Hope I can help you by this! Best wishes! ^ ^

    TB is Terabyte.

It is a unit of storage measurement the same as Megabyte and Gigabyte. 1TB is around 1000GB.
