I bought some shampoo called California Baby Tea Tree and Lavender, got it off drugstore.com for about 9 bucks. It works WONDERS and keeping it away, and taking it away. Shampoo and scrub with a soft brush, do this for 1-2 weeks and I promise it will get better. Also, if you look at the reviews for that shampoo on there, they are ALL five stars, it's good stuff.

My fiance calls this "helmet head" instead of Cradle Cap. I've called it Cradle Crap. Haha. Anyways, an old Italian thing that I use for my son is just getting some olive oil (i use light though, cause regular leaves too much of a stentch) and rub it into his head then give about 10 minutes for it to soften everything up and just brush it out with a soft brush, not a comb. Works for my baby...hopefully for your grandchild.

Ok so in the morning put some baby oil in your baby's hair! Do it when your gonna be staying at home or else your baby's hair will look greasy and we don't want that :)

Leave it in it all day and about an hour or two before bedtime comb it out with a nit comb or a fine toothed comb! Then give your baby a bath and wash her/his hair with head and shoulders or a shampoo especially for cradle cap! Dry and then repeat this in two days! Continue to do this and in about 2 weeks it should of all cleared up!!

Source(s): My baby brother had very bad cradle cap when he was 5 mths! The doctor suggested what i have just suggested to you and it cleared up and only came back once when he was 9 mths but was very mild! Did the same routine again and now he is clear and hasnt had any since :)

Put baby oil on you grandchild's head & let it soften up the crud & then get a fine toothed comb & scrape it out. Make sure baths are regular. Use a mild baby wash & when you wash baby's hair use the fine toothed comb again on scalp.

    Scrape gentley of course

Please don't use 'Head and Shoulders' - it is far too harsh for a baby. Why are you trying to solve this - surely it's up to the child's mum? Anyway, cradle cap, although unsightly, does no harm, doesn't usually bother the baby, and will go of its own accord.
