my dell inspirion 2200 won't boot. i was in a diagnostic screen, and now it won't boot. ?
is there a download which will reboot the system, or do i have to order the disk from dell? i have a friend here whose computer i am using, and he can copy a download to disk.

at 80%, there is a service error message: 0F00:136C message IDE device failed: blank media or no media is present in optical drive. test requires media with digital data. (resource cd/digital cd)

"yes" and "retry" get same result. "no" takes to an empty screen.

Does your computer turn on? If so what message are you getting on the screen? Or what happens in the screen when you turn the laptop on?
Make sure there is no cd in the laptop. If that doesn't work go to the BIOS menu (press <F2> as the computer turns on) and make sure the laptop is set up to boot from the hard drive first

With a XP disc- you may Boot from it and reinstall it.. you would choose boot from CD on Startup in Bios. Its all effortless from there. You cant do something with a Blue reveal. (that is going to be Black Technically).. In 40 5 minutes WinXP CD could have put in New reproduction of XP on the rigidity. solid success- Its effortless From there...
