Replacing power brake booster?

How hard would it be to replace the Power Brake Boost on a 1999 Chrystler 300M? Already had car checked out at pep boys and they said it was bad. I agree with their diagnosis.

it,s not hard! you don,t even have to remove the lines off the master cylinder. all you do is take the 2 nuts off the master cylinder and pull it off the booster, now i think there are at least 4 bolts to take off the booster, either under the hood or under the dash.

kirk is in basic terms 0.5 actual. confirm that the project is with the booster adn not the source of vacuum to it. unwell flow the subsequent step additionally. when you consider that gm has developed a hydro-advance for the brakes, that must be some component else and somewhat out of your palms. the vacuum brake booster isn't that stressful to interchange. you may desire to eliminate the bolts that carry the grasp cylinder to it and droop that so as that it does not lean over too far or bend the brake strains. after this is out of ways, there are approximately 2- 4 bolts interior the cab above the brake pedal. looking them is the stressful area. as quickly as the bolts are out, you're tremendously lots accomplished. out in the engine bay, you are able to pull the grasp in direction of the front somewhat greater and the booster ought to slip forward surely after that. confirm that the vacuum hose is bumped off first. setting up is tremendously lots the opposite.

you will need a couple of special tools like flare wrenches so you wont damage the brake lines also you will need to bleed the system, so not a good idea of doing it your self.
