With Even The Fox News Political Poll Showing Obama Clearly Ahead?
In Fox's latest polls conducted by their own network even they showed Obama ahead of McCain by 6 points.
Assuming that Fox, which is supposed to be so conservative, baited their questions to lean towards McCain, assuming that they could have tilted the numbers slightly, what the fact that even a Fox News polls showing Obama this far ahead this late in the election year suggest?
I personally don't like either candidate we're stuck with. I would have preferred a moderate like Hillary or Mitt. But I do find this one poll from a conservative network quite revealing.
Don't you?
(Of the nine major polls, Obama has an average lead of 6.5% and leads in the electoral count by an average of 15%.)
I did not spell the word 'assume.' I spelled the word 'assuming.' The 'e' is dropped when spelling 'assuming.' Of course, a fairly educated person would already know this.
Laurie, thank you for your logical input. As I've said I'm not too fond of either of what we're stuck with. But when I vote I'm voting my pocketbook. i have my furute and my daughter's future, to worry about.

Hi Doc,
It seems the sobering situation with our economy and the debates may have pushed Obama ahead. Polls do seem to change often, within a certain margin. SO much can happen. It has been a lead up like no other to an election.
Is there any way having McCain being an underdog slightly work to his benefit? Just curious.

A poll is a poll. What good would it do for Fox to falsely report the results? It wouldn't help their favored candidate, which I agree with you is McCain, but it would also make them look like they can't even do a poll.
Also, perhaps the strategy is to scare the Republicans so they raise more money or do more campaigning?
One reason polls aren't that reliable, however, is that some people, like me, won't do a telephone poll. I don't want to encourage "telemarketing-type" calls, and also they ask information I don't want to give.
If I could do an internet poll, I would do it, but so far all the polls I've been asked to participate in are telephone polls.

I think you may be right about the polls. But, the Democrats always jump a big lead and the Republicans always have to a do a lot of catching up.
I think the media hang time on the Economic crisis is helping Obama a lot. I haven't seen anything but a "dog and pony show" all week on the TV clips.

I wouldn't think too much about anything, yet...first of all, there is a month to go. There are two more pres debates, and a vp debate to go. AND...and here is the biggie....many pundits are predicting a BRADLEY effect, and I happen to agree, due to the number of dems I am related to personally, that will NOT vote for obama, that have NEVER voted repub in their lives, and are voting for McCain....so....pundits have said he must have a several point lead ON election day, to have a chance...plenty of time for a change......

Even Fox News is having Nightmares about Palin and Why doesn't she do a Interview with O'Reilly? Even he couldn't make her look Good.

Actually I feel the polls are fictional at best. With FOX News showing this is showing me their willingness to state facts unlike other news outlets that don't til after everyone knows the facts, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc...

Yes I do.
If the Polls are correct I can see America divided like never before.
I would hope we could split this country into Americans (Conservatives) and Wimps (Liberals).
It may save a lot of Bloodshed.

It would be quite telling if I listened to Fox News at all.
I don't listen to their rhetoric when they are amusing Republicans with their one-sided stories so why should I listen now when they say something that I like?
Hypocracy is not one of my strong suits.

At this point, yes Obama has picked up some points in the polls. There is another month to go, however and anything can happen. Barack is still not far enough in the polls to smell victory at this point.
Fox is not biased in its polls. They match all the others and always have. If you pay close attention to what is going on you will see this.
