What good is Palin? How do people still like her.?

I am an independent who will vote Obama most likely. What was the strategy in picking palin? Besides the obvious attempt to get Hillary voters. Did they know she wasn't very knowledgeable on the anything outside Alaska... which ive heard she only won because of her good looks and popularity since HS. Were they aware of her Skeletons and corruption, or was Alaska too far from the rest of the US for them to realize until now? And most importantly does anyone think that she will step down, being forced or humiliated away? I am sure most educated conservatives not the ignorant redneck ones have to be pissed, unless she isn't as bad as I have read. I just remember at first that some said she was McCain's savior and the best republican choice, it seems opposite. It seems she has nothing to support her so called strong opinions with anything other than her own opinions and ideas and beliefs that seem to have been installed in her head since childhood. Maybe I am misled and most people besides the ones I haven't spoke with say she is still the savior, and an ideal candidate? Please no bias answers and people who know they are just lieing to themselves! I do my research but don't know much about politics. From what I have seen from her I might know more than I thought, and might even have a better understanding of foreign policy! Am i still asking this question in austr?
