FedEx claims.. how bad does the damage need to be?

Who's familiar with this? Does the shipping box need to be totally destroyed for them to refund?

I received something partially damaged. Of course there is no damage to the box itself (i.e. no mishandling is apparent from the outside).

How picky are the "inspectors"??

Update:

It is insured up to $150. The damage is less than that.

They can be pretty picky. It will depend on the item and the type of damage. Sometimes the box is intact, but it was dropped. Without damage to the outside of the box, they may claim that the sender damaged it before transit or that you somehow did.

Make a claim, but don't hold your breath.
