give it up for the home schoolers!?

how many of you are home schoolers? i know i am and i LOVE it!

a few questions to answer are:

1)do like being home schooler?

2)what yer favorite thing about being home schooler?

and

3)what is one thng you hate about being home schooler?

Update:

just another question:

4)do find it annoying when people ask if you have any friends?

i mean it's like they think we're unsocial or something. one guy i know is especially annoying. he does what he calls a home schooler high five. it consists of claping yer hands over yer head. he says ya have to do it alone because home schoolers don't have any friends to finish off they high five. isn't that terrible?

OMG....yes...they look at us as if we have a disease or something! They are the weird ones!

let me tell you...there are defiantly some up's and down's to homeschooling, but your better off home schooled in the end, even though sometimes throughout the school year you wish you weren't!

    1. you don't have to worry about people shooting at you!

    2. you can finnish your work @ 12, you don't have to drag it out the whole day.

    3. you can do any thing at any time, because your schedule is flexible.

    4. you don't have to deal with all the drama and pressure from your piers.

    5. you can socialize with your family more.

    6. you learn to appreciate a mothers job!!!

    The list is endless....

I thank God I'm homeschooled, because I'm always around my family, although sometimes I wish I wasn't. :-p Also, I know that I will get a better education than the average person in the public school system, it's a FACT!

The only thing the people in public school have on us s that they get to socialize with their friends every day. But I see my friends who go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, and any other time I want to, and I can see my homeschool friends anytime!

Don't let people tell you they are smarter than you just because they go to public or private school.....they are the ones who are retarded if they say that. They don't understand how home schoolers over achieve a public school kid ANY DAY!! there's another fact!

I have tons of friends, ones that actually like me and respect me, not some of the friends that are in schools that would back stab you in a min.

It exasperates me when even some of my private school friends think that being home schooled is for dumb people, I normally just laugh it off, but sometimes it hurts. But you have to ignore the ignorent! :)

Sometimes I wish I was in public school, but them I remember that God has choosen the path of homeschooling for me for a reason, and I just have to accept that!

Source(s): i have been homeschooled my whole life, i'm a Senior now, and I'm getting a Diploma....so HA! prove to me now that i'm stupid, home school haters! lol

I was home schooled for high school and I loved it. I feel that it allows the student to focus and better themselves in any subjects they do not feel comfortable with and spend more time on things they need a little help on.

Also, I feel that public high schools are very unsafe and unrealistic, they do not provide a good learning environment and provide an unrealistic social aspect. It's almost a disadvantage to go to public school because the way people act in high school is not tolerated in the "real" world/job world.

I had the ability to complete a full day of school work and also get a good paying job; another thing that public school cannot offer. I was given more life experience sooner due to my ability to complete my school work at any time of the day.

There was no real disadvantages to the home schooling experience other than the fact that I did not have that much of a choice when it came to electives, but then again I blame the program I chose for that issue.

I'm a former homeschooler (I stopped about 7 years ago, when I decided it was about time to get out of "high school" and go to college full-time). But man, I have some good memories.

    1) Yeah, I loved it, especially in comparison with my experiences in public and private school.

    2) It was so nice to be able to go at my own pace (no getting yelled at for reading more than one chapter of "Johnny Tremain" at a time!!) and indulge my interests. I also feel like homeschooling contributed a lot to my personality today. I've never felt like I have to do/not do something because it is/isn't cool or popular.

    3) The really ignorant assumptions people make about homeschoolers. I feel lucky because I've almost never had those assumptions directed at me -- most people learn I was homeschooled only after having gotten to know me, so they already know that I know how to socialize, that I'm well-rounded academically (having a Master's degree kind of blows that argument clear out of the water), and that I'm not part of some nutjob fringe group. But I feel sorry for all the people who DO have to deal with those assumptions. Actually, I feel sorry for the people who don't bother doing a little research to cure their ignorance too. Spouting off things that aren't true doesn't do them any favors, after all.

    4) Yep. It's an assumption fueled by pure ignorance.

    1. Most of the time - it's always difficult to get back into the groove at the beginning of the year.

    2. You have a lot more freedom

    3. Being around my Mom so much.

    4. DEFINITELY! Do they have any brains? In fact we get to see our friends more than they do! Every Friday I have a game night with a huge group of homeschoolers, every Tuesday I hang out at church with a bunch of friends, and because I don't have homework, I can hang out with friends during the week as well.

There is something wrong with your friend's reasoning because he's talking to YOU, and you are a homeschooler, couldn't you just give him a high-five? He's being very illogical and silly.

    (1) Yes i like being home schooled, you don't get caught up in all that "teenage drama".

    (2) I'm not as stressed out about things

    (3) It gets kind of boring sometime because I'm by myself.

    (4) YES!! People ask me that ALL the time! I just want to say this "I have friends, my parents don't lock me in a closet and don't ever let me out to meet new people!" And the only good thing that people can think of when you say you are home schooled is "so you get to go to school in your pajamas!!?" It is so annoying.

    1) most of the time

    2) I can take off any day I want

    3) Not getting to see people everyday

    4) Yes it's really annoying. But ironically, I only have 1 friend. Haha. I used to have a lot of friends but a lot of crap happened and they all just disappeared and I don't talk to them anymore. But now when people ask me if I have friends I can't say yeah I have a bunch of friends. But I really don't care.

I was homeschooled, but probably not for the same reasons as you.

It was sweet because I learned how to think for myself and be a very independent individual.

The only thing I disliked about it was having to explain my situation to people who didn't know. The would always ask,

"Are you like, super religious?" I am not. I'm Agnostic.

"Do you have any friends?" Way to many. They practically live with me.

"Are you like, super smart?" No. I'm of average intelligence. (I did start college at 16 though.)
