Help me with my Xbox 360 Wireless network adapter?

My Xbox says that my wireless adapter is disconnected. I've plugged it into the front 2 USB ports and the same thing. When I plug it in a red light flashes and then the light is off. It doesn't continue to flash red it only flashes once. this happened to me when i took out the adapter. It was working perfectly before i took it out but it hasn't worked since. I've tried what it says here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909334 but it didn't help.

Do you have other things you can use to test the USB ports on your 360? Some things to try are the Rock Band 1 insturments, play and charge cable, xbox live vision camera, or an ipod. If either of those work then your USB ports are fine and it is most likely a problem with the network adapter.

On the other hand if they don't work then you are looking at dead USB ports and would need to call MS to start the xbox replacement process. My back USB port died with my network adapter in it, so now I've got to keep it plugged into one of the front two.

If you plugged it in the back of the Xbox 360 and the Wireless Network Adapter doesn't work and you already tried the troubleshoot on the website (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909334), then its most likely that the Wireless Network Adapter may have malfunctioned. A good double check is unplug everything from the console (power adapter is a must) and replugging it all back into their respective positions before the Wireless Network Adapter started to act up. Also, check if its only the USB port is the problem by plugging in something into the port and seeing if it works. If all else fails, then it's a good idea to find another one.

maybe it's time to put a fork in it. Maybe you can contact Xbox support and see if you can send it in for repair/replacement.
