Help buying a snowboard?
Hey so i just outgrew my old board i think it was a 152cm and it was some type of ride. Im looking at a burtom custom (second) http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/Burton-Custom-secon... I mostly ride in the terrain parks but i dont hit the giant kickers. I do basic-intermediate boxes and rails. I also love to just ride. Im 5'9 about 160 lbs. I have a shoe size 13 mens (us). What size board should i be looking for. Is this the right size 155cm? oh i also live in nh so i snowboard in nh and vermont which is mostly manmade snow and pretty packed down. Thanlks
Ok so ive been looking into the wide boards and most reviews say that it is hard to turn in them. and i love being able to turn easily. Would it be fine if i got a board thats inbetween the wide and skinny widths?

The Burton Custom is a great all around board...not the best at anything, but good at everything. Anything in the 155 - 158 range would work for you. The Custom also comes in a wide version, which you're going to want with your size 13's, especially if you do much riding outside of the park.
Since you're riding on primarily hard-pack snow, you might want to check out a board with Magne-traction (MTX). MTX is a specialized edge that provides insane edge-hold on hard-pack and even ice! I've ridden an MTX board and they do live up to the hype. If you're interested, check out the GNU Rider's Choice MTX -- it's almost identical to the Burton Custom in terms of terrain versatility, and it also comes in a wide version. The 158W or 157.5 (if you don't want a wide) would be perfect for you.
A wide board might (and I stress MIGHT) be a little sluggish for you, given your low weight, but I think it's worth it to eliminate toe drag. I'd say that if 50% or more of your riding is outside of the park...get a wide board to limit your toe/heel drag. Toe/Heel drag isn't as much of an issue inside the park since you're not laying down deep carves.
If you do decide on the Custom though, you won't be disappointed...it's a sick board. Also, if you're concerned about width, Burton "wide" boards are at best "mid-wides" (in between normal & wide widths) by any other company's standards.

The Burton Custom is great for because it is offered in regular, and wide. The wider board will fit better with you big feet. Even though it is a twin the stance is moved back a little and that will change the way it rides when you are riding switch.
The Twin, Se7en, Blunt and X8 all are twins with a centered stance. Ice Coast riders don't need to be back in our stances, because we rarely see big powder. Both the Blunt and the Se7en are offered in a wide board and the Twins is a little wider than some other true twins.
If you are going to live in the park 155 will be okay, but a longer board will be more stable on the rest of the mountain. Maybe think about 156, 157 and 158s.

anything between 154-159 should be a good size for your weight, and with your foot size I would be looking at wide snowboards. I'd go on the shorter side of that spectrum since you ride park mostly.
response to additional details: wide boards are only hard to turn if you have small feet, which you don't, and toe/heel drag is by far the bigger problem, which you may have on skinnier boards.

Use a snowboard size calculator:
http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm
And pay particular attention to the "waist" size - your shoe size will probably put you on a "wide" board so that will limit your choices. I would recommend the Ride Yukon or the Ride Decade Wide.
Good Luck

A 155 would be perfect. With your shoe size make sure your width of the board is over 25.5cm.
Check out the CAPiTA Stairmaster. They have it in wide sizes. Its one of the sickest park boards ever made, and its only 319$. I would def go with a stairmaster over a custom!
