Yes! I work as a makeup artist and Smashbox is the best kind of primer. Just a little bit of trivia, Smashbox was actually the first makeup line to have the primer. So they definitely know their primers. You also need to remember that there are many different kinds of primers in the Smashbox line. I personally use the green one because I have redness in my face and it helps to correct that. Many of the cheaper brands are going to have many chemicals in their primers that are going to harm you skin and cause it to be irritated. Smashbox, however, actually adds ingredients like vitamins and moisturizers that actually make their products good for your skin. You're not just paying for a primer, it's going to help improve the look and condition of your skin. If you have oily skin, I would say go with the white primer, since it is the only one not silicon based. All the other ones are based on personal issues you may have with your skin (i.e. the purple for dull yellow skin, the green for red skin, ect.). Not only is it a great product, but all of the generic brands (revlon, maybeline, almay) do their advertising photo shoots in the Smashbox studios and are using the higher end products, which always include the Smashbox flawless face regime. 9 times out of 10, the products being presented are not the products being used. Usually it's mix of Smashbox, Nars, Urban Decay, and other high end products being used in all of the common makeup brands advertisements. I would definately say that it is worth the money. The one way to make sure that it isn't drying out, is to put the cap back on after you are done, and keep it away from constant direct light. If you follow those two rules, this primer will last and give you the clean slate that you are hoping for. Good luck with everything!

I tried it, and I absolutely hated it. Also, it was super expensive. It made my face feel really greasy and at the end of the day my foundation looked the same as if I hadn't used primer. I asked the girl working there about it, and she said a lot of people break out from it. Luckily I didn't, but if you break out super easy I wouldn't want to risk it. I use Rimmel primer, and it works well. It's in a white tube with a brown cap. It has an orangey tint, but after you rub it in and apply your foundation it doesn't look orange anymore. It's also about $7, so a lot cheaper than Smashbox :-]

It just sets up your skin for make-up. It creates a matte base for your face so that make-up can be applied easier. In all honesty, it doesn't make that much difference when I use it (I use a lot of moisturizer so that could be it too). It is on the bourgeois end of the make-up line and not worth the investment if you can't afford it. If you're still interested in a base primer but can't afford the bucks for Smashbox, you can always opt for Rimmel's make-up primer. It's not much far off and you'll have leftover cash for whatever.

depends on your skin type. if you mean the original, it will work if your skin is dry or normal and is not acne prone.if you have oilier and acne prone skin, the light version is a better bet. They are supposed to make your makeup last all day, look smoother, etc etc. Personally didn't work very well for me, but lasted a good long time. Get some samples and ask the sales girls if you need some assistance.

well it makes your makeup stay on longer and not move or melt off and some will make you makeup look smoother. On some people the smashbox photo finish makes peoples makeup look patchy and some people seem to think it works great so i guess it just depends on you skin. But I really like Mac Prep and Prime it works great and makes my skin super smooth. and Rimmel also has one that's just as good but way cheaper. hope this helps!

Yes it is!
It helps smooth out your skins surface by fulling in those lines and acne scars. It give you the more air brushed look.
Not only that but it helps your foundation stick and not melt during the day!
Lastly, it gives you a glowing finished touch that can't be beat!

absolutely worth every penny! it makes your skin look flawless... it s silicone based so it basically just sits on top of the skin... it is completely oil free and non comedogenic... the main purpose of the product is to fill in large pores and fine lines giving an overall Porcelain look... which it does!! it will also help your foundation to last longer!

I got it, it dries up in it's container very quickly! It's suppose to help smooth your face, to get it better to put your make up on.
I do not use it any more. No. Avon's got one that's 7.99-it has a pic of Reese Witherspoon on it, modeling it - just came out lately... Good luck...
