Every now and again, I have to clean the solar eye. Mine garden lights get hit by the automatic sprinklers and the mineral deposits build up on the solar cells that are on the top which then attracts dust in the air creating a film. Once I wipe off the top they are able to get enough light during the day to light the way to my door at night. Try wiping off the solar panel early in the day to see if that was the problem.

There will be a standard AA or AAA size rechargeable battery inside. You can check to see if this battery is holding a charge after a good day in the sun with a battery tester and replace as necessary. Rechargeable batteries only last for about 1000 recharges (2-3 years) then need replacing. The life span of these batteries depends also on how long they have been on the shelf of the shop as well.

Those silly little lights in the garden? Junk IMO. they're not environmentally friendly in themselves, the planet would be better off without them and did they actuallly do any good when they worked?
