Oh dear, you do have a problem Venlafaxine is one of the most difficult of the modern antidepressants/anxiolytics to withdraw from.

Most doctors have avoided dihydrocodeine for years as it is so addictive, which is why it has quite high street value.

I would stick to something simple, non-addictive and harmless like lavender oil on the pillow.

Have a cup of Horlicks made with hot milk about one hour before bed. Take a hot water bottle with you so you feel snug and warm, and take a book to read in case you wake. Try repeating 'I am not going to wake till the morning light' a few times. See what happens. Sweet dreams.

Do you have sleep apnea? What kind of medication are you on?

You should probably just go get a sleep study done. Or if the medications you're taking are effecting your sleep patterns talk with the doctor about alternatives or a sedative.

Try Melatonin, it is a natural body chemical believed to regulate sleep. But you should see a real doctor. I only went to Butch's School of Doctorin, in Scranton.

Drive yourself harder when your awake.

Take up jogging or something that really tires you out you must not be doing enough in the day.

God takes you in your sleep so he is probably telling you something about your life now. Pay attention to your dreams.

edit... to all of you THROW AWAY THOSE BASTARDIZED PILLS THESE FRANKENSTEIN DOCTORS ARE GIVING YOU... YOU ARE THEIR CASH COW!

Just try it with Orfidal but not without consulting your chemist or pharmacist.
