Virus causing computer to turn off/restart and can't remove it?
My sister's computer is infected with numerous files, I've downloaded SUPERAntiSpyware and managed to remove over 120+, about 90 of which being cookies. However we can't remove the main problem virus because the minute any virus protection programs find it, the computer restarts (self defence for the virus?). We can't find where it's hidden or figure out how to remove it, can anyone give us any ideas or advice?

I have used Superantispyware free edition for 3 months.
It is a cripple ware -> meaning that most features are disable unless you pay.
It claim that it can Detect and Remove Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, Dialers, Worms, KeyLoggers, HiJackers, Parasites, Rootkits and many other types of threats.
However, I found that it over promise and under perform.
Please try Clamwin portable anti-virus.
Go to another PC and download Clamwin portable anti-virus program.

Hello. My name is Sanjay Patel, and I currently hold an honorary Master's degree in the field of Computer Science. I am aware of, and have personal knowledge related to your question. There are computer maintenance businesses which are probably in your area, however they come at the cost of hiring a professional to enter your home. There may also be some local destinations where you can drop off your computer and wait to have a technician look at it. These options can often be costly, and pretty inconvenient. The answer to this question can probably be found doing a little extra research on Google.
A well-running computer can be a hard thing to maintain. From my experience, there is but only One software which is reputable- and consistently reliable for healing sick, slow computers. Reimage™ - https://reimagefix.im/ is a world-renown, easy to use software designed by Forensic scientists and made for the average person. This thing will fix literally just about ANY problem you could possibly be having with your PC. Reimage was recommended to me by a Professor during my 2nd year of Graduate school

this is an indication that you have picked up the ms blaster worm or some other worm or virus -- purchase a good antivirus from a computer store --try best buy and i recommend kaspersky antivirus it is one of the best out there for helping with viruses and worms -- purchase it in disk form if you are still able to use the disk reader in that computer -- it costs $59 but its well worth it compared to having to take the the machine to a tech -- i will provide a link to an article on trojans and worms -- also disconnect that machine from the internet right away

Try downloading Avira Antivir from www.free-av.com. It has a higher detection rating than AVG or Avast. That's what it's all about.
Then scrap SUPERAntispyware and download Spyware Terminator from www.spywareterminator.com. I personally think this is the best antispyware out there.

First download the following (if the virus is blocking your internet, you may have to download these on another machine and burn to CD or copy to a USB memory stick)
Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefr...
CCleaner (cleans out caches) http://www.ccleaner.com/
Avast! 4 Home: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
Now, start the machine in Safe Mode (hit the F8 function key as the machine boots up, and choose Safe mode)
Turn off System Restore on your machine, but only until you get this fixed - many of these trojans get copied into the System Restore files, which anti-virus programs aren't allowed to touch and the viruse could reinstall themselves from there. My Computer > Properties > System Restore.
Then run Malwarebytes, and clean everything it says
Then run Superantispyware
Then run Avast - If a virus infection is persistent, use Avast to do a boot-scan - click on "schedule boot-scan" and restart the computer
Then run CCleaner
Then turn System Restore back on.
Now install the antivirus program and antispyware program of your choice to do continuous scanning, and make sure you keep it up to date.
Always keep your Windows, web browser and Java software up to date - frequent patches are released to plug security holes.

I tried to remove an annoying pop-up from my system for several days. I tried out for all antispyware software in the market but what finally helped me was
www.search-and-destroy.com I did a free scan and found several errors such as spywares,trojans….THANKS….

I just tried https://reimagefix.im/ mentioned by that Sanjay guy on here and it completely fixed my computer. I was having all kinds of problems that were absolutely annoying me to death. This computer had viruses, spyware, error messages, hardware problems, and it would often crash or freeze on me. I think the worst thing to me was how SLOW and laggy it became. So just when I was about to wash my hands with it, and waste money on a new computer...I find this.

Boot the system to safe mode and attempt to run a virus scan then. It should work because the other items should not be loading. To get the boot menu, press F8 repeatedly just prior to the XP load screen ~ just after the BIOS screen.
