most of the gods and goddesses don't really care how you approach them, despite what many recons claim. cultural traditions are fine and all, but if that's not your culture, they're rather pointless.

i usually make offerings of fire to hygieia, but wine and grapes are also well-received. natural foods left at a shrine then taken outdoors for wildlife work well. if you're of more of a celtic persuasion, brigid is very powerful, tho brigantia is her fiery aspect. for health, she is best approached as the lady of the well. natural spring water is a good offering for her. kuan yin is also very powerful, and medicine buddha [not a god, but still very good]. aesclepios is the greek god of healing, but i haven't worked with him.

i find that none of these personalities are interested in high praise or adoration, so a heart-felt appreciation of their efforts is enough to sway them. the offerings you make are more for yourself, to put your mind into a state of petitioning. but it's extremely important to be aware of who you are petitioning since they are not the same, so google the god you think was calling you and learn as much as you can.

reiki is also a very powerful healing technique. if you're not attuned, you can still call upon the life force for help, tho it wouldn't be as focused as it would be if you were attuned.

First off, there are many many different religions that fall under the "Pagan" classification. Your basic "god" could be Cadamus (although he was a real person, historically speaking). Most deities of health tend to be Goddesses, unless you're talking specifically about Medicine (ie Apollo - he was a Greek god of the Sun, although the Romans revered him as a god of Medicine. He's also one of only a few Greek gods who's name was unchanged in Roman mythology).

In Celtic mythology, there were at least 2 Goddesses (Brigantia and Brigid), and two Gods (Dian Cecht, and Nodins (Irish and British, respectively)).

Do you even know the proper rituals involved in praying to a specific pagan deity? No, clasping your hands in genuflection isn't proper. Just like any religion, paganism has its own specific rituals and rites involved in praying to a specific deity.

Head on down to your local "new age" book store and pick up a book on the relevant subjects.

Pagan is not a single religion, but many religions.

Mercury, Apollo, Diana, Hygeia for example are some of the gods and goddesses related to health and healing.

God solutions ALL prayers although the outcome gained't inevitably be what you requested for. consequently some human beings receives nicely consequently of prayer. Others gained't. Our existence isn't of this global so God gained't put off our lives purely because we ask him to. even if someone has wellbeing insurance is inappropriate. there is not something incorrect with having it if it brings you before or better useful medical medical care.

The western pantheons have been well represented so far. So I'll just mention someone from the east, Kwan Yin, or Kannon (in Japan), she's also sometimes associated with Green Tara in Tibetan Buddhism (Tara is an emanation from the Bodhisattva of compassion, and has twenty-one aspects herself, coded by color). Kwan Yin or Guan Yin, as she's referred to in China, may have been a historical figure, as well, or (as is the case of St. Brigid in Ireland), a genuine human figure may have just become conflated with the goddess figure.
