how do I convert "png" or "bitmap" pictures to "jpeg"?

when i save a picture onto my computer i either have a choice of png or bitmap. how do i get it to convert into jpeg. ive tried typing it in but it doesn't work. could it be the site?

    save it then open it with the simple paint program then click on "save as"

    it will let you to save it in a lot of file types including .jpeg

    open it in paint and choose save as from the file menu.
