Where is the best location on a cruise ship?

Where would be the best room to have on a cruise ship? Upper on the decks or on some of the lower ones? Near the front, middle, or back of the ship? serious answers please.

I have been on many cruises and I have always preferred lower & Forward staterooms. The forward Staterooms are usually nearby the main glass elevators which I love to use and a set of stairs for easy access up a few decks. I usually sail Carnival & have sailed Disney too. Being on the lower decks it is more quiet. Also, when 4,000 people are trying to exit the ship during a port day it pays to be on the bottom level of the ship. I usually stay Deck 1 Forward. Usually you take the stairs from deck 1 down to Zero to get off the boat so by being on the bottom deck you beat the crowd. Also, if you forget something in your room then you can run up the stairs real quick back to your room while another member of your family waits in the security line. It has always paid to stay on the bottom level for me and the funny thing is that the lower levels are cheaper b/c most people want the Lido deck by the pool or something. I just look at it this way "4,000 people are not going to be wanting to go swimming all at once, but 4,000 people are going to be wanting to get off the boat all at once when you dock at your destinations".

I know that the other Travel Agent said that she tells people to get Midship on a High Deck (word of advice---most cruise lines midship and high decks cost way more =more commission for her). I think of what I would want. Being logical has always paid off. If you want to be by the pool then by all means book the room on the Lido. It's your choice and as you can tell everyone has a prefernece. ~Hope Mine Helped~

I have been on over 20 cruises and always request an upper deck towards the back ( just pass the center of the ship ) never felt any movement or noise.

As a senior travel agent I always advise my clients to go mid ship

    closer to the top.

You feel the motion a lot less there.

I've been on dozens of cruises and this is the best.

    Enjoy!

Middle toward the top. Our first cruise we had a room up front, and was loudly woke up by the anchor. Bad choice. My last trip we were on level 9 in the middle, very nice.

Mid ship, the lowest set of balcony rooms. I always get a balcony room; as the rooms are small as it is and the balcony allows almost like a second room. Plus there is nothing better then having breakfast and watching dolphins swim on by...

BTW,..the bouncy ships are the small ones. The bigger the ship the less bouncy.

Ships like NCL's Spirit or the Dawn are smaller ships...

middle and lower towards the water line. this gives you more stabiltiy if you are prone to seasickness.

some others love the aft balconies on the ships. Others like the penthouse suites.

I would talk to a travel agent who specializes in cruising.
