It's not a black & white issue. On the show, the vampires want to "come out of the coffin" and fit in with human society. So they pretend that they only drink the artificial "True Blood" and that they no longer kill people. Some, like Bill, do just that. Others drink blood from humans who allow it. But it appears that killing people is still a fairly widespread practice among vampires, they just keep it a secret. For instance, the 'Magister', who is supposed to represent vampire law, orders Bill to kill (and later revive, as a vampire) a human - namely Jessica.

I use http://www.watchtrueblood.net/ to watch each new episode online and they have the first few episodes as well.

I have found http://truebloodepisodes.info/ to have all the FULL episodes in high quality

i don't know about online, but if you have comcast on demand they have all the episodes and you can watch them whenever you want.
