how do I get rid of fleas on puppies?
I have a liiter of 1 1/2 week of puppies. My mother dog keeps bringing in fleas from outside. I have washed her and the pups both with dawn. And the next day they have more fleas. I even washed the blanket and soaked it in apple cider vinegar. No success. I need some new ideas on how to get rid of them safely before they end up hurting the pups!
I can get rid of the fleas, but as soon as the mother dog goes out to go to the bathroom she gets more fleas. I cannot give the mother frontline or anyother flea medications as long as she is nursing according to what the packages say.

skin so soft from avon works good. If you have them in your house try putting out a couple of dishes of warm soapy water out on the ground and watch the fleas jump right in and drowned.

DO NOT USE FRONT-LINE OR ADVANTAGE ON A 5 1/2 WEEK PUPPY!! They must be at least 6 months old to use those topical treatments and they can react very negatively to it. When I rescued my puppy at 8 weeks old and he was covered in fleas, the vet gave him CAPSTAR which is a pill. It kills all the fleas and larvae within 24 hours. Follow up with a super diluted flea bath. Double check with your vet first.

For starters you mothers dog needs to be put on a monthly flea prevention. I recommend frontline plus. There is also a pill made by capstar that you can give jer that will kill all living flees on her within minutes but you will still need to put her on something else. If she is exposed to the pups then the fleas on them with jump on her too and once they bit her they will start to die off. As for the puppies, I don't think there is anything for them since they are so young. Good luck.

First you need to get rid of the fleas from the one bringing them in the house. Get fruntline or some thing like that to put on the back of the dogs neck. then you need to work on the puppy's , But right off hand I don't know any thing that you can put on puppy's that are so young.

Take them to the vet and get some puppy pads for mom.
Right after you have every body out of the room spray it all down really good.
Put mom and pups in the same crate but put A towel in there first so that they are not sliding all over the place.
Good luck!
