And I could get a Skype for mobile and call people using Skype since I live on campus where wireless internet is available everywhere ...

All you need to check is if that phone is a GSM phone like Nokia N Series. Definitely, you can use them with T-Mobile PAYG but the phone has to be unlocked. If you need unlocked phones, you can mail me or talk with me on Yahoo!
