What OS to run on a spare computer?

I have a spare computer sitting around, 2Ghz, 512Mb RAM, 40Gb Hard Drive, I was wondering what, in your opinion is the most 'fun' operating system I could put on it for something to do.

-Thanks

I have a computer with around the same specs, except 1.5GB of RAM, quintuple(haha) booting Vista(slow on mine, wont work on yours), XP Pro, 98, and several different kinds of linux(ubuntu, puppy, damn small)

the most fun would be different types of linux like the ones listed above, they are different than the average OS and a lot of fun to use, after browsing the OS for a few minutes, you say to yourself, why doesnt windows have this and that...lol

yea, linux is most fun, but windows is more useful unless you are using an older computer just to run music constantly like i do

If you want to learn a lot, then I would install Linux. I'm thinking of doing it myself just for the hell of it.
