The movie is great, the book is border-line great (there are more great books than great movies in the world, the bar is higher.)
I'd have to say the slang in the book is one of the three or four best usages of linguistic in a book, that I've seen. Plenty of authors try to invent slang, Burgess does it.

MOVIE = A
BOOK = 2
The book is hard to follow because it's written in their slang. It will take some time to get used to but it's pretty good.

The movie is fantastic. Definitely an A, although it might seem a little dated.
