Why do those that think Obama won the debate say that he "gave clear answers"?
Obama did not clearly say anything, he was political,meaning he skirted and dodged everything asked. He tried to tie McCain to Bush more than once on wrong issues and even tried to hide his own culpability with the Washington crowd. Exactly what did you find so "clear" in his answers?

Well, he didn't make any racist comments and he didn't go over his time limit... Oh wait... That was John McCain! I think "that one" won the debate
