Fresh Water Blue Lobster Molt?
Our tank recently added a beautiful Colbalt Blue Fresh Water Lobster. I was hoping you could help me find ways to help my lobster molt in peace as i have been told that they are very vulnerable at this time and my friends have lost theirs in the past.
We have had this lobster for about a week and he has a cave even though he likes to dig under a rock. He is a lot of fun to watch. What do we need to do to make him comfortable when molting.
basics:
55 gallon tank
8 Tigers
1 Catfish
1 Clown loach (he is in quarantine as he is new)
2 Leaf fish (one is in quarantine as it too is new)
My beautiful lobster
We actually gave away our clown loach as he needed more loaches to be happy. The Lobster is not small he is by far the largest in the tank. I have found very little information on the internet about him and the only thing I do know is that a friend had three at different times and all of them died during the molting process. Thanks again

Our Lobster used to molt and then sit in the corner of his "den" and no one ever bothered him. Good luck!

simply separate him or provide more hiding spots for him.but to be honest, unless he is small, there does not seem to be much of a threat to his safety
